Ban vinegars other than wine or apple
Explotaciones Hermanos Delgado, a leading company in the production of organic wines and derivatives, subscribes to the declaration made by the Provincial Association of Entrepreneurs of Wine Industries (Apeiv) of Ciudad Real has asked the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development to prohibit the use of vinegar for mouth use for food that is made with alcohol that does not come from wine or apple, according to an article published by La Tribuna.
This has been assured to Efe by the president of the Apeiv, Lorenzo Delgado (EHD Manager) who has justified this request that has been made in writing that “the manufacture of vinegar of industrial composition is being used for food and consumption, which in addition to making wine cheaper for this use, it makes it difficult to sell it. “
Wine entrepreneurs have considered that wine or cider should be given priority for food use and industrial alcohols should be used for the mixture of fuels and as substitutes for contact herbicides in agriculture, gardens and public spaces, to reduce contamination and improve food quality and environmental. In addition to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Apeiv will also ask the Ministry of Health to intervene, since “the consumer does not know what they are buying,” Delgado concluded.
